Dear Mo,
Thank you for being so kind, even if it did bring a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
Getting as many of us together year after year has been a joy, but this past year had been the most difficult ever for me,
The upside of these events since 2007 has been getting to know so many genuinely nice people.
We've all made longstanding friendships which we've treasured.
Losing so many of my oldest friends one after the other in the past 12 months has hit me hard.
Mike Brooks was the latest in January, and it hurt, He and Kath had been with me at The Mill since day one, and we were very close.
To tell you the truth, I will feel lonely at The Mill On The Soar in June.
Even Allister (who also has never missed a single 'do', summer or winter since 2008, is buggering off on a cruise!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif
And Rob and Michelle will be skipping this one so they can visit family after a difficult year.
Hey Al, you WILL be still around in 2016, I have absolutely no doubt about that at all (and we'll see you and Laura at The Flyer in nine months time).
Thank God for all you stalwarts like Chris and Shirley, and so many more of our good friends who will be with us again as always, and the fun will go on. Our missing warriors would expect nothing less of us.
So for anyone new here, or even some of you veterans who haven't yet enjoyed' Mill Madness', please give it a try,
You won't regret it.
Latest news is, that due to a cancellation, we now have 12 places available at the Saturday function.
Full details are in the post before Mo's.
Hoping to see some new faces and make some new friends again this year.
As I said lately, you can walk into the room a stranger and come out feeling you've known these good folks all your life.
All the very best to you all,
George
