Thought I would follow this up just incase someone else finds themselves in a similar situation. As we all know when any symptoms arise it is a very worrying and anxious time. Very important to follow up immediately, forget about being embarrassed the medical professionals have seen it all before.
I met with a urologist who examined me and booked me in for an ultra sound (see below). I then attended the hospital for a flexible cystoscopy to check my bladder as there were micro traces of blood in my urine. Up until this point I had read quite a bit about this on the internet and had worked myself up about the procedure. I can categorically say that it was nothing worse than slightly uncomfortable and is over in a few minutes. The specialist examined my bladder three times to make sure everything was clear. Don't dread this if it has been recommended it is not painful and is a thorough exam along with the ultra sound. You can follow progress on the screen and observe where your prostrate sits. Fortunately all of this was clear.
I also received my PSA result of 1.01 which I was told was good.
I now have a baseline and will monitor this carefully. I plan to undertake medicals every year to keep track of any changes.
In terms of the haematospermia, this is still happening and the specialist has compared it to a nose bleed. I have put this down to over exerting myself in the gym having done very little excercise over the last 10 years. This 50 year old body takes longer to recover. I hope the above helps.
Thanks
