Scared of using the Vacuum Pump

Hi all I am now 8 weeks post surgery and ready to move on to the next stage of using tablets and a pump. The problem is the thought of the pump makes me feel physically sick. As I am only 53 I am keen to resume a sex life at some point and wondered if anyone had any advice moving forward. I had the robotic nerve sparing surgery.

Hi Andrew,

When you get your pump, just us it engorge your penis with blood on a regular basis ...No need to use rings to maintain an erection for sex at this stage..
That will help keep the fella in good nick and prevent atrophy...
A daily dose ( 2.5mg or 5mg ) of Cialis is sometimes prescribed to increase blood flow around the spared nerves to aid recovery ....although not all medics are convinced that this helps...

As you've had ( bilateral? ) nerve sparing surgery there is a good chance sexual function will recover in the months ahead..

Good advice above. I was 48 at surgery. It took 2 yrs before normal erections returned with Cialis which I’m still on. It is VITAL you use that pump as often as you can. I’m 3 1//2 yrs post op and STILL use it each time I shave at the sink , and I think it’s really paid off. You will lose it if you don’t keep the tissue stretched. My wife and I didn’t like it for sex so I bought injections , tablets etc etc , but do seek advice from GP. I did use the pump with a tight ring if I needed to masturbate as it seemed the only way. Worth looking up Tenga Egg on Lovehoney website. They are great lol. It’s a slow journey but don’t give up.
