When I was diagnosed with PC in Aug 2015 I tried alternative treatments (but not cannabis based). I tried alternatives because I was concerned about quality of life rather than duration. My elder brother was diagnosed with PC about 5 yrs before me and without hesitation went down the robotic surgery path. I was very concerned about loss of sexual function so investigated alternatives. My wife has a friend who was training in natural health alternatives so I had plenty of information available. Suffice to say I tried a lot of things over 12mths.
Cut out sugar altogether - great way to lose weight I must say. 10kg in 4wks easy. Certainly made everyone think I looked sick. Lol. Cut out processed foods also.
Tried hyperthermia treatments, lipospheric vit C. PEMF treatments. Multi-wave oscillators. Iodine doses. Herbal. Mental. Etc etc
PSA reading went down gradually from original 7 to about 5 or so for about 6months then began tracking upwards. When it reached 15 I decided it was not working and went down the surgery path.
I dont regret trying all of these alternatives and it was certainly interesting to take responsibility for ones own health. I felt like a bit of a failure for a while when alternatives didnt work. But realised - dont be stupid no point in getting myself down cos I hadn't managed to find a cure for cancer. Lol.
My final conclusion was the diet changes can do real good I think. If adopted before you have cancer.
For most it is too late by the time you are diagnosed. It also depends on the severity of your disease. Some people do manage natural cures but very few.
The hands-on medical professionals are trying to do the best for you. Sometimes they can be brusque and to the point which can alienate some patients initially. I know I was. But they deal with it every day so they have to be I think and they cant waste time on those who dont take heed.
