The final countdown!

Dear All,

All went to plan and Stuart now back in his room and sleeping at the moment, they have said no solid foods today only clear liquids but if he was really hungry later they would give him consume - is that normal? He seems to be on lots of drugs so not complaining of any pain yet. May have to go by 4 as the rushour will be horrendous but my son will visit him this evening so he is not completely alone. To be honest I am feeling a bit drained so will feel better after a good night's sleep and then get back here by 9 in the morning, he seems calm enough and the nurses have promised to keep any pain relief topped up.

Thanks again for your good wishes xxxx

Hi Steve,

I had a great sleep and just spoke to Stuart who slept max 2 hours at any one time. He said he was feeling more uncomfortable this morning but is looking forward to his breakfast shortly. I will get there by 10.

Hey Trish

Yep every 2 hours or in some cases 90 minutes I was being woken for some by the nurses.

Have yourself a big breakfast to keep you going and I hope Stuart enjoys his. I had jam on toast for my hospital breakfast post op and it felt like a treat as I'd not had it in a long time.

Tell Stuart he has lots of people behind you both, we are all family now

That's great news Trish.

I was quite lucky with the wind but drank peppermint cordial which might of helped.

Onwards and upwards..

When is Stuart coming home?

We are home and so far Stuart is doing surprisingly well, he has already had two bowel movements this morning. Lots of fruit and prune juice in hospital as well as a little Lactulose solution seemed to do the trick. Now for a relaxing day ahead and I will cook something nice for dinner.

Thanks to all my friends on here xxx
