sharp sudden pain

hi,yesterday i was washing pots up then came a sharp sudden pain in the prostate area made me shout aagh never known pain like that,not had one since thank god,i have had rt and i am on ht for locally advanced prostate cancer t3b seminal vessicle invasion.anyone have any thoughts on this.cheers.

my best suggestion would be have a talk with the specialist nurses, not sokething I have experianced but whenever I spoken with them they have given good advice

Hi Radar,

I agree with Nidge, perhaps it's best to talk to your Cancer Support Nurse about this. 

I've never had any pain from that area, so I don't really feel I can help much more.

Anyway, hope it gets sorted.  May have been a one-off incident.

How long is it since you had the RT? It could be side effects from that. Maybe it's a simple as a bladder infection. I should give your nurse a call in the morning.

After my husband had his brachytherapy he would experience what you say. It was enough to take his breath away.
It followed a bowel movement, peeing or sex. Fortunately that seems to have abated but at the time he was worried that it was a permanent side effect of the radio seeds.

thanks,just had a word with my macmillan nurse and she said dont think its anything to worry about probably just pulled something or strain,she said with my psa been undetectable should be okay.

When a person has been diagnosed/treated for PCa there is a tendency to think any pains like this can be PCa related when often this is not the case. However not unreasonable to allay serious concerns by seeking advice.

cheers,off for a few beers now seems to calm the flushes down.
