More on Cialis...

However, it can also ‘provide’ an erection. My Dr. told me that with manual/mental stimulation an erection was possible when taking 5mg per day. However, from reading other threads on this forum I am lead to understand that 5mg Cialis is insufficient to ‘provide’ an erection. Certainly, in the month or so since I started taking Cialis I have not experienced an erection yet.

I put ‘provide’ in commas because I went to see my Dr. again two days ago and discussed matters with him. I thought, from what I had read on this forum, that a 20mg tablet would ‘provide’ an erection. My Dr. Tells me this is not so. Cialis doesn’t give one an erection with or without stimulation. Cialis only closes off the escape of blood from the area in question. In other words, it doesn’t give one an erection; it allows the erection to persist. That is what I understood him to say at any rate. Is he right?

I have a small number of 20mg Cialis tablets and I will take the first tomorrow in place of my normal 5mg tablet. Can someone tell me what I can expect please? My surgeon tells me he was able to spare nerves on one side of my prostate when he removed it 10 weeks ago. Perhaps I’m expecting too much too quickly?

When I mentioned a pump my Dr. totally rejected it saying that there are other better methods of obtaining an erection and a pump should be a final thought.

It will be a few days ago now but my guess is that you took the 20mg and got nothing? Try not to have too high expectations; the biggest inhibitor to you regaining a healthy sex life is going to be disappointment and anxiety.

Yes your doctor is correct. Cialis works differently to Viagra and Levitra. All three depend on you being in the mood. None can give you an erection on their own, but how they assist is different. John has tried taking 4 x 5mg but it didn't really give him the start he needed; that was quite some time ago so perhaps he should try it again now that he gets natural erections just to see if 20mg helps with longevity.

I am depressed at your GP's ignorance of the benefits of the pump. I may raffle ours off as a fundraiser :-)
