Penile implant

User

Thanks, much appreciated.

Forgot to ask, did you lose or gain any length or girth?

Is there still blood flow to the glans?

Does the penis still feel warm or is it coldish?

Sorry for asking personal questions.

Regards

Hi as Far as size is concerned I lost length not because of the operation but because of The impotence caused by my prostate removal lack of erection as you know us men have erections  when we are sleeping etc girth as for mine with the implants more girth as for blood flow to the glands i still get blood flow to the head I know this is not always the case , it can feel slightly cold when flaccid but when inflated ok

like I said is it like when I was 10years younger no it’s not i Asked my wife is there any difference and she said not at all  I have a read of your problem and if you want as near to normal sex life that can be offered this is probably your only option I’m sure there are men out there who would not agree with me have not had the succwas I’ve had and you are a lot younger than myself  you have to want this believe me mentally it’s a life changer as well as physical hope this helps drayton

Hi Drayton, thanks again for the information.  To be honest, kind of forgotten what an erection feels like lol, a step closer to making the decision.

Like your Mrs, mine also at present feels that I shouldn't have the implants, fears they might not work it could have other complications, personally, as for not working, won't be any worse off lol.  Hopefully she will see the positive outcome.

Regards

Hi Drayton,

I hope all is well.  If you don't mind me asking,

How are you finding the implants now?

are you able to try various positions etc?

Do the hinder day to day life in any way?

Can you feel the reservoir when you walk, jog or do any physical activity?

regards

No problems with the implant going into my 5 month no issues with my daily life I’m not a big keep fit person but do a lot of walking and bending in my work not a problem cannot feel the reservoir at all only thing was the small scar where they fitted it that has now heeled as far as positions are concerned don’t be. all ok . plenty Of blood in the gland that I’m told is down to yourself as an indervidual, now I cannot speak for others only me But the best orgasams in my life I’m not kidding you

hope this helps Drayton  best of luck

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

Were you asked to use a penis pump before or after the procedure to help with stretching the penile tissue?

Were you given a time span/ life cycle of the implants, for example use X times per week/month to get longevity for X years etc

Does the penis feel the same, sensation etc, for example when one gets a natural erection, you feel the pressure build up, do you get the same feel when its inflated?

When you say "best orgasm" is that because you can now have multiple orgasms due to being able to stay hard or are they just more intense?

sorry for all the questions.

A number of men on here have reported that orgasms post op are more intense than they were before and / or have multiple orgasms that they had not previously been able to do. I don't think it is to do with the implant, it seems to be to do with the removal of the prostate and dry orgasms.

As for the pump I had been useing it for some time After my prostate removal although I did not find it successful for erections so my use sadly declined hence my lose of length

after the implant my nurse told me once all things had heeled to inflate daily and leave for a while while showering / no specific time just to get used to inflating and deflating

As for the feel of the erection as apposed  to a natural one no it’s not the same build up as you are not useing the body’s nerves and senses . But the sensation of sex itself is for me great . When I spoke about my orgasams post implant nothing to do with multiple ones I believe this is down to my prostate removal and how I worked so hard on my pelvic floor muscles. As unfortunatelay incontinece is a by product of having your prostrate removed , but these excercises can be done by anybody . but It is true that once orgasam has been achieved and Wanted to continue unless you deflate then you can .

As for the life span of the implant only time will tell ten years fifteen years who knows anything that is mechanical can go wrong at any time but I had no choice it was either have the opp or stay impotent . My exsperience all but short has been positive I’m sure there are men out there that have not had the same result .

all the best Drayton

Hi All

Hope all is well.

Awaiting date for surgery for implants, however, getting very anxious and worried about all the "what If's"

any tips on how to overcome this?

also has anyone had an implant recently? what was your experience and has it improved your intimacy with your partner?

Feel free to PM me is you prefer.

Thanks again to everyone who has guided/helped me get this far.

What are the criteria for getting an implant?  I think it is an expensive treatment and so hard to obtain.  As I'm only 48, I'm wondering if I should ask about it.

Have you tried everything else?? If not you need too first, an implant is not an insignificant undertaking and you shouldn't consider it unless all the other options have failed..

You need to see a urologist who specialises in the treatment of ED.  Implants are only considered, if ALL other treatments don't work for you.

Just found my CCG's position - they don't offer penile implants

Can I apologise to the forum member who contacted me by private message the other day - I have attempted to respond but although I have successfully used the pm facility in the past, it seems the criteria have changed and my post count is now deemed insufficient to allow me to do so.  At least this reply takes me one post nearer to the point where I can again do so.
